Larissa Lam & Baldwin Chiu

BALDWIN CHIU aka Only Won and LARISSA LAM are a husband-wife filmmaking and music team. They produced the award-winning documentaries, Finding Cleveland and Far East Deep South about Baldwin’s family’s search for their roots that leads them on an emotional journey to Mississippi, where they uncover the racially complex history of Chinese immigrants in the segregated South. Far East Deep South was broadcast on PBS World Channel’s series “America ReFramed” and has won multiple film festival awards. This dynamic duo also host the Love, Discovery and Dim Sum podcast discussing race and culture through an Asian American lens. Before entering the film world, Lam carved out a distinguished career in music and TV. An award-winning solo music artist and former singer with the EDM worship group, Nitro Praise, Lam has toured the U.S. and Asia. She won the Hollywood Music in Media Award for her song, “I Feel Alive.” As a composer, she has written music for film and TV projects such as The Oprah Winfrey Show. For nine years, Lam co-hosted the weekly talk show, “Top 3,” with Rich Wilkerson, Jr. on TBN’s youth network, JCTV. A native of Diamond Bar, CA, she has also been a speaker at TEDx and a contributing author to the L.A. Times and the Asian American anthologies, “A Melting Pot of Thoughts.” Chiu is also a rapper known by his MC name, Only Won, who gained recognition for his viral videos, “Cantonese Boy,” “12 Days of Dim Sum” and “I Wanna Be an Engineer.” A professionally licensed engineer, he was previously a spokesperson for the Intel/White House campaign, “Stay With It,” promoting careers in engineering under the Obama administration. Baldwin’s songs were featured in the video game “Sleeping Dogs” and the film, Dead Man Down. Additionally, Chiu has been a speaker on numerous panels addressing race, diversity, and inclusion. He has been featured on NBC News, PBS and NPR among numerous media outlets.
