Kelvin James
Senior VP, Bank of Hope
Kelvin James is Senior Vice President & CRA Manager for Bank of Hope in Los Angeles, CA, the first and only super regional Korean American Bank in the U.S. Mr. James has over 20 years of experience providing guidance, direction and growth in community development activities across multiple states. He is responsible for all aspects of the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) compliance program and Data Reporting, Community Support program and Hope Scholarship Foundation administration among other responsibilities.
In all, Kelvin has been involved in community development, assisting first-time homebuyers and providing technical assistance to small businesses, community development investments and services resulting in over $180 million for affordable housing, small business capitalization and thousands of employee volunteer service hours facilitating financial education to adults and youth, technical assistance to small businesses, non-profit organizations, local government and public agencies.
Kelvin currently serves on the Board of Directors for Clearinghouse CDFI, a direct lender for affordable housing, community development and other nontraditional credit needs in California, Arizona and New Mexico. He has previously served on the Board of Directors for affiliates of Black Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity, NeighborWorks, National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals. Kelvin has a Masters Business Administration degree in Global Management from University of Phoenix, John Sperling School of Business and a Bachelor of Science, Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix.
