Hanna Jang

Pastor Hanna Jang is a passionate pastor and theologian dedicated to fostering compassion, justice, and belonging within her ministry. Originally from South Korea, she grew up in a large Methodist church built by Korea's first ordained woman pastor. This legacy of strong female leadership has deeply influenced her own calling. She earned her bachelor’s degree in theology from Methodist Theological University in Seoul, where she also served as an associate pastor at a church of over 2,000 members.

Seeking a broader context for her ministry, 4 years ago, Pastor Jang moved to the United States to pursue her M.Div. at Claremont School of Theology, a progressive interreligious institution. As a certified candidate for elder ordination in the United Methodist Church, she has served in various pastoral roles, including Associate Pastor and Youth Director at First UMC of Upland. She has also embraced guest preaching, sharing her voice and experiences with congregations across California.

Outside of her ministry, Pastor Jang is a big foodie, loves coffee, and is deeply connected to and having fun with her spouse, Kevin Kang, with whom she shares a mutual calling to serve.
