DeLlora Ellis-Grant
Manager with the Aging & Disabilities Department - LACAAEA
DeLlora Ellis-Grant has dedicated 37 years to the County of Los Angeles. She joined the County in 1987, as an Intermediate Typist Clerk for the Los Angeles County Public Library. Ms. DeLlora also worked for the Department of Health Services, Department of Public Social Services and is currently assigned as a manager with the Aging & Disabilities Department.
She joined the Los Angeles County African American Employees Association in April 2016. Ms. DeLlora has chaired the following LACAAEA committees: Scholarship, Membership, Systemic Racism Ad Hoc. She continues to serve LACAAEA as the President.
Her collaborative spirit bore the fruit of partnerships with the Oscar J. Bryant Foundation and Los Angeles Association of Black Personnel Inc. It was through Ms. DeLlora’s efforts that LACAAEA participated in the Black History Program and Juneteenth Celebrations with these two powerful black organizations.
In addition, she successfully led the association’s participation in Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell’s Inaugural Juneteenth Celebration and partnership with Black Women for Wellness for LACAAEA’s first Women’s History Month Celebration, “Ain’t I a Woman.”
Over the course of her membership, Ms. DeLlora has been highly motivated by a desire for enhancing the association’s performance and delivering outcomes that exceed the expectations of our members. She led the Allensworth Scholarship Fundraiser, Scholarship Mixer and merger networking event with the Association of Black County Administrators. Ms. DeLlora was also instrumental in LACAAEA’s presence on social media (LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter (X), YouTube and Facebook) and has made many contributions to the association.
Ms. DeLlora has been awarded, multiple awards at the National, County and Departmental level. She was a 2008 National Association of Counties Achievement Award winner. In 2007,
Ms. DeLlora was awarded with a LA County Star for Service Excellence. She has earned certifications from USC Sol Price School of Public Policy for Executive Leadership Development and Management Development.
