Filiberto Gonzalez has built a career as a problem-solver in a widearray of industries, which include real estate development, nonprofit fundraising, and online outreach, during the last twenty years. In each endeavor, Filiberto has been tenacious in his pursuit to build better and stronger communitiesand help those most in need.Over the course of his career, Filiberto has secured more than $10 million infunding, which has included federal and state governmentgrants, corporate donations, major gifts, as well as a Congressional earmark in 2008. After a ten-year career in nonprofit management and fundraising, Filibertolaunchedtheconsulting firm Social Impact Consultingto provide professional services in fundraising, business development, online outreach, and researchto nonprofits and local government agenciesin 2011.Clients have included the City of Los Angeles,California Department of Education,Arthritis Foundation, andCenter for Nonprofit Management,among others.In2017, Filiberto joined Grapevine Development, areal estate development firm,to serve as vice presidentof development and strategic partnerships;in 2018, Filiberto helped launch and became the founding executive director of Grapevine Economic Development Fund, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was created to build housingto help curb the homelessness and affordable housing crisis. In addition to his career endeavors, Filiberto hasextensive experience in public service and volunteer.From 2005 to 2016, Filibertoserved on the Genesis LA New Market Tax Credit (NMTC) Advisory Board, whichapproved and allocated more than $265 million in NMTCs for commercialreal estate developments in underserved areas throughout Southern California.In August 2013, the mayor of Los Angeles appointed Filiberto to serve on the five-person North Valley Area Planning Commission, on which he served until October 2014.Filiberto has also served as a member of the Faith and Community Empowerment (FACE) Advisory Board since 2014.Filiberto earned a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Southern California,where he concentrated on the study of communityorganizations, planning, and administration. He earned a Bachelor of Artsdegree in Chicano Studies from California State University, Northridge, where Filiberto was a student leader during tumultuous protests against anti-immigration and anti-Affirmative Action state propositions. Filiberto lives with his wife and their three daughters in Los Angeles’ West San Fernando Valley.
